This page lists companies that have contributed sponsorship of some form to my adventures. An important note. I only use gear that is worth using. I won't use supplied equipment just because it has been supplied at reduced or no charge, it has to be top notch gear that performs faultlessly.

Mont make some of the very best outdoor equipment available within Australia and I am proud to use their gear. I use their travel clothing, warm wear, down clothing, tents, sleeping bags and packs, and headwear. It is all fantastic stuff to use, well designed, durable and functional.I have been a Mont Ambassador for 20 years now and it has always been a pleasure working with them.

Luciferlights set out to make the best headlamps available. I believe they have succeeded. Almost every part of the manufacture of these headlamps is done in house and uses the highest quality designs and components available. Most other headlamps available have runtimes defined by the ANSI/PLATO FL 1 standard that defines runtime as the time it takes for a headlamp's brightness to drop to 10% of its initial output. So if a manufacturer states that it has a 1500 lumen output runtime of 2 hours, it will actually be outputting 150 lumens at the 2 hour point. Lucifer took a different, far more honest approach where their runtimes use a minimum output of 70%. I love walking through the bush at night and my Luciferlights M6+ headlamp makes it so much more pleasurable.

Helinox make some of the coolest chairs and walking poles around. My Chair Zero goes with me everywhere now, it’s just so nice to be able to lean back after a day’s walk or paddle.I’m looking forward to working with Helinox to try out more of their gear. And my poles have been to Greenland, Antarctica and Mongolia with me and are still going strong.

Smitten woollen clothing is as good as it gets. Well made, stylish and best of all, it doesn't get stinky after days of use on end!

DeLorme

DeLorme's messenger device, the InReach SE is an awesome piece of technological wizardry. It sends and receives messages and emails via satellite, tracks my progress and it also has an emergency function. And best of all, it works anywhere on Earth because it uses the Iridium network. DeLorme provided an InReach for my solo trip to Greenland and 9 years later it is still going strong. Now owned by Garmin, the InReach is an exceptional piece of gear.

Norske Skog. My employer before I retired. They have been generous both with their time and support, a great company to work for.

Singapore Air have generously increased my baggage limit on overseas expeditions.

Etihad has been very generous in assistance with excess baggage whilst on expedition.

QANTAS, very helpful with baggage on my Antarctic expedition (to the tune of 4x 30kg bags for free from Australia to South America!

Icelandair has been very generous in assistance with excess baggage between the UK and Iceland

I’ll admit to being a real nerd when it comes to accurate temperature. Sensorpush generously supplied some of their ultra accurate sensors for my Mongolian trip. They really are very, very good.

I seriously hope I never hear these alarms activate as it means I have an unwelcome rather large white furry creature close to my tent. But they will give me an opportunity to stay alive…enough said. Update..on our Greenland Lake Fjord expedition the alarms went off several times, mostly because of Arctic foxes and also once because a wave from a far away collapsing iceberg hit the trip wires and activated the alarms. You wouldn’t believe how long it seems to take to get out of the sleeping bag and tent with gun in hand…….

In my opinion, these traction aids are essential for safe travel in icy conditions. They just work!

Food while travelling in the bush has always been a problem. Finally, OnTrack has solved the problem! Nutritious, tasty and filling. OnTrack supplied my meals for my Mongolian expedition.
